Pear Tree Cottage

Pear Tree Cottage is a stone-built Cornish cottage in the centre of the creek-side village of Gweek, home of the famous Seal Sanctuary, and just a few yards away from the head of the Helford River where you can walk along the pretty river banks. The well-stocked local shop is only a few doors up and the Black Swan pub is just across the road, they serve good food and have a welcoming bar. Gweek is well placed for exploring the Helford River and The Lizard peninsula with many villages, coves and beaches just a short drive away. The closest town, Helston, is just over a 10 minute drive and offers a range of supermarkets and other amenities.

Enter into the hallway with hooks for coats and the living room and kitchen off. The cosy living room features a wood-burner, two seat leather sofa with matching arm chair and a TV with DVD player. The kitchen diner has been sympathetically modernised to offer an attractive but practical space, there's a large electric range cooker, fridge/freezer, compact dishwasher, washer/dryer, microwave, kettle and toaster. Also in the kitchen is a dining table with chairs and a bench. A stable door leads from the kitchen out to a patio area and the lawn garden beyond.

Upstairs are the two bedrooms and a shower room. The stairs are of a traditional cottage style, being housed within a cupboard in the kitchen, they are a little steeper than normal but there is a handrail if needed. Bedroom one is a double bedroom with a wall mounted TV, a chest of drawers, hanging rail and bedside tables with lamps. Bedroom two is a twin room with 3ft single beds, with views over the garden.The modern shower room has an enclosed shower, a toilet, handbasin and heated towel rail. All linen and towels are provided except for beach towels.

The garden is large and private and boasts a lovely summerhouse, with picnic table and fire pit. The garden path leads down to the Helford river and is fenced, but please be aware when small children are exploring.

On-road parking, generally available right outside the cottage, otherwise within a short walk. One well-behaved dog welcome at £25 per week, but not upstairs please.
