The Long Barn

The Long Barn is a delightful two-bedroom cottage set in the countryside just two miles from the Helford creek-side village of Gweek and four miles from Helston. This pretty detached cottage will provide a convenient and comfortable base for up to four people.

The Lizard Peninsula is on your doorstep with its beautiful sandy coves, fishing villages and breathtaking coastal walks. The market town of Helston is nearby and Porthleven has a fine choice of well-known restaurants set around the picturesque double harbour. Falmouth with its famous docks, marina and cobbled shopping streets is about half an hour’s drive away, with the cathedral city of Truro just a little further.

The country cottage, which has under floor heating throughout, is entered through French doors with views over the garden. Inside, you will find a comfortable living room with beamed ceiling and LED TV with DVD and Freeview. The dining area has a sideboard and table with four chairs.

The fully equipped kitchen has an electric oven and ceramic hob, a fridge with freezer compartment, dishwasher, microwave and washing machine. The bathroom features a shower-bath with mixer shower over, matching toilet and handbasin, a heated sensor mirror with shaver point, a heated towel rail and extractor fan.

The attractive double bedroom has a 4ft 6in bed with bedside tables and a built-in double wardrobe with shelves. The pretty twin room has 3ft single beds with a central bedside table, tall chest of drawers and built-in double wardrobe with shelves.

Outside is a patio area with garden furniture, washing line, and you are welcome to bring disposable BBQs. The lawned areas in the grounds are available for you to explore with a stream used as a boundary in the woodland.

Please note: There is a stream at the end of the garden so please be careful with young children. The owners live on site in a detached cottage.

Rental includes bedlinen, electricity, towels and wifi. Heating throughout is by under floor heating. There is off-road parking outside for two cars. Regret no smoking and no pets. Mobile phone reception can be weak but the property does have excellent WiFi with most phones now able to make use of internet calls.
