Newquay is Cornwall's most popular and liveliest resort, and famous for the surfing championships held at Fistral Beach; attracting competitors from all over the world.
Newquay offers a selection of beaches, as well as indoor attractions. The coastal footpath is easily accessed. Remnants of the town's fishing past include the huer's hut on the cliff. From here a fisherman would direct the boats to the shoals of pilchards which once massed off the coast.
