Wendron, Lizard Peninsula
Situated two miles from the ancient market town of Helston.
The village and the surrounding area form part of the Cornwall and Devon Mining Landscape World Heritage Site. In the heart of the countryside by open moorland and gushing streams. Wendron mining district has one of the longest histories of tin working in Cornwall.
Poldark Mine is a living reminder of Wendron's mining legacy. Visitors can take an underground tour through mine works dating from medieval times to the 18th century. On the surface are craft workshops, a cafe/restaurant, museum and picnic area.
Porthleven with its beach and harbour is approximately five miles away. Penzance, St. Ives, Falmouth and The Lizard are all within approximately half an hour's drive.
