Bude, North Coast
Bude is an attractive seaside town on Cornwall's North coast offering a wide choice of activities and amenities.
With a choice of sandy beaches on the doorstep, Bude is popular with families and surfing enthusiasts alike.At picturesque Summerleaze, visitors can hire a beach hut and watch the world go by, or take a dip in the open air sea water pool.A sand wheelchair is also available for hire, providing disabled access to the beach. Crooklets is home to Bude Surf Life Saving Club. At low tide there is an expanse of golden sand and rock pools to explore.
To the north and south of Bude there are more beaches to discover. Widemouth Bay is a magnet for surfers and bodyboarders. Beginners are catered for at the surf schools. To the north is Sandymouth, a National Trust owned beach with its own waterfall. (Not recommended for the less mobile)
Walkers are spoiled for choice with miles of footpaths including country strolls, a pushchair friendly path and more challenging stretches of coast path. High Cliff is south of Bude and is Cornwall's highest cliff at 224 metres (735 feet).
Other activities include golf, horse riding, indoor and outdoor children's play areas, cinema, swimming pool and bowling alley. Visitors can shop for local food and crafts at the regular Farmers' and Crafts Markets, or even create their own masterpiece at a watercolour workshop.
