Mevagissey, South Coast
A pretty fishing village set around a working harbour.
Mevagissey's busy harbour is a working fishing port where you can watch the fishing boats come and go. Aside from the shops and eateries, there's a small aquarium and also a museum that depicts life in the village over the years. The South West Coast Path passes through right through the village, you can walk to the neighbouring Portmellon where it's pub sits right next to the beach, or in the opposite direction you have the larger sandy beach at Pentewan.
In the surrounding narrow streets are a collection of shops, galleries, cafes, pubs and restaurants.
The Lost Gardens of Heligan are just a few minutes away by car, or there's a cycle/walking route from Mevagissey if you wanted to make more of a day out to this well known beauty spot. A little further afield is the Eden Project, an eco attraction which is home to the world's largest indoor rainforest. The nearby town of St Austell has a range of supermarkets.
