Mawgan Porth beach lies a little north of Newquay and can be found between Watergate Bay and Porthcothan. Like many of the beaches in Newquay, it is very popular with surfers and has been listed among the top 20 beaches in the world by the times in 2007. The beach has a vast expanse of golden sand and backed with shops and restaurants. In the summer you will find lifeguards patrolling this beach to ensure safety, proving popular with all members of the family. This beach is just five miles from north Newquay and an hour’s drive from St Ives. The Eden project is less than an hour away.
